Doug has been a freelance arts and entertainment journalist since 1999. He began as a music writer for the likes of The List and The Edinburgh Evening News. He went on to write for NME, Melody Maker and a number of musicians’ magazines. He has also written music and literature features for a number of broadsheet newspapers including The Sunday Times, The Times, The Guardian and The Independent on Sunday and all the Scottish broadsheets. These days he writes regular book reviews for The Big Issue magazine.
